Additionally, P2 drivers no longer need to pass the Driver Qualification test to proceed to an unrestricted license.<\/p>\n<p>The minimum two-year time period for P2 drivers, will now be extended by 6 months each time they receive a suspension for unsafe driving.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>December 2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>From 1 December 2016, P2 drivers have been unable to access a mobile phone at all whilst driving or riding. They are now subject to the same mobile regulations as P1 and Learner drivers.
